ANDREAS

KNIPPLING

BIOGRAPHY

Andreas Knippling started his career in the pony saddle. "My parents ran a small riding stable, so it was almost a matter of time that I was lifted into the saddle at the age of seven."

In contrast to his two sisters, he has remained loyal to equestrian sports. On the side, he was born on December 21, 1966 and completed an apprenticeship as an insurance salesman before he completely entered the professional show jumping business.

With Paul Schockemöhle, the three-time European show jumping champion, he enjoyed training at the highest level for two years. At the age of 21 he won his first international Grand Prix in Düsseldorf (1987) and was awarded his golden riding badge.

In 2008, he and Neolisto van het Mierenhof took 5th place in the Aachen CHIO in the NRW Prize and 6th place in the following year. In the Grand Prix of Aachen, one of the most difficult tests in the world, he even achieved 6th place as the second best German. In addition, Andreas Knippling was able to win the Super League Nations Cup in Hickstead, England, with the German team in 2008 and 2009.

Today he runs Gut Wahnenhardt as a tournament and training stable, where he always has around 20 horses in training. He also trains young and committed riders, whom he accompanies and looks after at tournaments.

Andreas Knippling has three children: Pedro (2001), Paulo (2001) and Carlotta (2011).
